The purpose of this Handbook is to provide employers with a set of tools with which they can develop and establish sound practices in developing and managing the performance of their employees.
Each section is a separate and total “guide to the process” with one designed to aid Managers or anyone responsible for managing the performance of employees under their direction, and the other designed as a “guide to the process” for employees.
The Manager’s Guide has been developed as a ‘training tool’ and a reference for managers, supervisors, team leaders, to provide them with a ‘how to’ guide as well as explanations to the different aspects of implementing a good performance management and development programme within their team.
The Employee’s Guide has been developed to take the “fear factor” and uncertainty out of the process of performance management and annual performance reviews by providing employees with explanations and definitions, and transparency to the whole process.
Templates for Review Forms and a Manager’s Checklist are also provided.
All the guides and forms in this Handbook may be utilised in their entirety and adapted to suit an employer’s organisational structure or employer’s may wish to ‘cut and paste’ from this Handbook to develop their own procedures.
